IFPTE is actively involved and aware of the many issues facing federal employees.  Our international is located in Silver Springs, Maryland, and because of this close proximity to the seat of our federal government, routinely lobbys and meets with our government officials.  Local One has its own legislative liaison (Mr. Drew Terry).  His sole focus is keeping the local informed and involved in the many pending legislative issues facing federal employees.

IFPTE is an member and active participant of the AFL-CIO and the many programs that they offer our union members.  This includes but is not limited to Union Plus Credit Card, Mortgage and Real Estate Program, Loan Program, Union-Made Checks, Life Insurance, Union Member Accident Insurance, Legal Service, Union Driver & Traveler, Hertz Rental Car, Walt Disney World Hotel Discount, Parent's College Advisor, National Ear Care Plan, Union Member Dental Program, and Union Member Flower Service.   Information on any or all of these programs is available in the union office.

but certainly not least is the ability of individual employees with a collective voice, to bargain over issues which affect their working conditions and conditions of employment.  IFPTE affords professional and technical employees this ability and is trained and staffed to provide its members with the best possible representation.  We are available and willing to answer any and all questions that you might have.
