Membership Updates

Local 1 has been fighting for increased pay to compete with the private sector. We know things can be financially tight, and as such, are now offering an introductory rate of $20/mo. for new employees. We are also offering a $15/mo. tier for members who are not part of the bargaining unit. This membership is designed for those who have retired or moved on from bargaining unit employee status under Local 1, but still want to show their support
of our efforts. This membership allows for benefits, such as Union Plus membership, to be utilized.

MEeting Info

Regular monthly meetings for Local 1 are held at 5 pm after the conclusion of the Executive Board meeting, on the last Thursday of the month, at Griff’s - 509 High St, Portsmouth, VA 23704.

Retirement Info

If are about retire you might want to think about joining NARFE, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. This organization represents retired employees and has a great lobbying team.  Check out their website to learn more: www.narfe.org
